SKATEBOARDING NEWS THIS WEEK

Vans - Mixed Grill

The Vans Crew grill up some clips in Sweden

Howling like some 6-fingered Wolves fans in the woods, a group of familiar and new Vans riders hit Swedish street spots with force.

The street spots they find there are quite unique. The spots have a lot of awkward angles placed together perfectly. As well as the banks and rails, they find a pretty crazy transition spot in the wild. The trip looked fun!

alwaysdowhatyoushoulddo - always aotearoa v2

alwaysdowhatyoushoulddo drop a couple minutes footage

The majority of people who wear Always do what you should do don't know what a skateboard video looks like, but for those that do... this is a good watch!

In general, it's the same old story when I watch Always' videos: I like the team and trick selection, and find the clothing and music mildly annoying. This one fits the criteria.

Joel Meinholz - Krooked Guest Pro Part

"Joel is like an undomesticated dog”

Joel Meinholz releases a Guest Pro board and part for Krooked

Krooked bless us with a couple of minutes of Joel Meinholz footage alongside a guest pro model board. The rednecky song choice fits perfectly with Joel's skating, and he does have that chaotic steeze similar to Emile Laurent. He also looks like he could be Theo Von's Dad 😂

'SWANTASIA' by Alan Buenfil

Alan Buenfil makes a unique project filming in Mexico and Paris

The colours, B-roll, music and editing are right up my street in this project by Alan Beunfil. The project is filmed brilliantly, and the colour editing on the clips looks really cool. The relaxing music emphasises the fast paced clips, and the roster of skaters is epic and I don't know any of them.

hardest good - Austyn Gillette

Austyn Gillette, the best a man can get.

I love Hardest Good videos; they make short videos highlighting top skaters. Austyn Gillete is the latest example. A minute and a half of high quality skating, just fast cut raw clips with no music. Austyn flowin' like water in this one.

Dickies X Thrasher's "Diesel Time" Video

3 minutes of Dickies main guys in quick succession

Thrasher Magazine present a short but sweet project of Dickies' top guys gettin' buck. Not much more to say for this one... there's no fancy filming, the music isn't terrible or excellent... and as you'd expect from the likes of Franky Villani and Jamie Foy, the quality of the clips is top tier.

Lucien Gourdal – Taking The Plunge

Lucien Gourdal releases a banger of a part

Lucien Gourdal is a new name to me, like many introduced to me by Free Skate Mag's youtube, big up! Lucien does his tricks fast and clean and looks like he's having a blast whilst doing so. He has a hell of a flick and has a lot of power. The scratchy grungey tune is the icing on the cake.

Theo Clarke – SALO

A gritty 4:3 part with creative clips and a lovely aesthetic

Another one presented on Free Skate Mag. This one's music to my eyes and ears, with Theo Clarke dropping the most tasteful clips over a mystical tune in front of a 4:3 gritty lens of some sort. Mate, the colours in this one are epic. Harry Kidman, who also films for Alwaysdowhatyoushoulddo I believe, you did a great job filming and editing this one.

Max Berguin - WARZONE

Ultimate ledge tekkerz from Max Berguin filmed between Bordeaux and the USA

Max Berguin is this weeks' ledge tekkers highlight, partnered with a guilty pleasure trap tune. I should hate it, but I quite like it. Warzone is a lyric in the tune 😂 There's a wide selection of techy ledge clips from Max, all clean and collected.

Ross Doyle - Vague Part

Ross Doyle releases a part for Vague Skate Mag

Vague Skate Mag release a part of Ross Doyle, another ledge champ. He might just have the coolest fits of this weeks' videos. A true DC warrior with a strong hardflip and a bumpin' hip hop tune to accompany it.

Daan Van Der Linden’s “Daan Canaria” Antihero part

Dan Van Der Linden makes a part in Gran Canaria

I feel like I haven't seen this dude for ages. It's good to see Dan Van Der Linden drop a new Anti Hero part, especially in Gran Canaria... that's pretty unique. As always, the part is gnarly and he's definetely got a unique way of looking at spots: And wow, the spots there are sick!
