SKATEBOARDING NEWS THIS WEEK

spezzatura - RAWR 5

Another banger from Spezzatura full of memes

This video starts off with flat ground lines in the coolest-looking, golden flatground aesthetic known to man. It has a funny, rough-cut approach with some interesting pedestrians scattered throughout the skating.

There's a couple of toe drags, violations and lots of shananigans... but it's an entertaining watch. No music, just good skating and a good crew.

BAD FOR THE BONES | Ibu Sanyang & Lucien Genand

Cons Skate Shoes release some Ibu Sanyang & Lucien Genand footage

I'm humble enough to admit I'd never heard of either of these dudes and have became a big fan over the past 10 minutes.

As the name suggests, Ibu and Lucien took some good slams making their parts, and the juice was worth the squeeze. Aswell as the skating being really good, the spot selection is heavenly divine.

This Old Ledge: Pulaski

Ted Barrow returns to give insight on a spot of skateboarding history

This time, Ted Barrow talks about the history of the hallowed ground of a Washington, DC plaza, which has served East Coast skateboarding for a long time. How long? Ted will walk you through it.

Filled with pink granite out ledges, pyramid style ledges and perfect stair sets, it's no surprise that a whole lot's been done here. It's a paradise skate spot surrounded by a bunch of other legendary spots.

"DOWN HERE" Indy in Australia

Independent Trucks in Australia

With a fat line-up of pro and flow Indy riders, the Independent Trucks team take a trip down under. There's non-stop action, skating well-lit Australian spots. It also has a really cliche, grungy, Independent/core brand soundtrack.

The roster is massive and talented, and there's a selection of clips that could have been the highlight clip. I wish they put names of skaters on the screen, as now there are a lot of sick AM's who remain nameless in my brain.

Thunder T-II Truck Review with Ben DeGros | Skateboarding Review

Ben Degros reviews the New Thunder Trucks: The T-II

The difference between the Thunder Trucks you know & love and the T-II's lies in 2 points.

  • The new one's are taller, moving from 52mm tall to 54mm tall (Indy's are 55mm).
  • The second difference is the wheel axles are 3/8" closer together, similar to an ace or an indy, making them turn a little tighter.

See Ben Degros, the godfather of skateboard specifics, for the rest of the changes in Thunder's latest truck

Helsinki Helride 2025

Some bad boy skating in Finland

Metal, crowds and gnarly scenes in Helsinki, Finland. Watch a top line-up hold a quality jam full of big ballsy moves and bangers. The highlight spot that was seshed has to be that roll on rail, it's bonkers. What nutter made that 😂

Gratitude Skateshop 'Bad Neighbourhood'

Gratitude Skateshop bring us a shop video out of Bristol

Based in Bristol, Gratitude Skateshop presents a proper shop video, showcasing the locals and Bristol in general, along with some quality skating. It's got bare skatepark footage and the filmer has his OIS on, making the vignette shake... but put all that to one side.

I'd be interested to find out what it was filmed on, because it's got a cool dreamy, smudgey aesthetic which gives the video some personality. They also include some quality B-roll scenes snipped from classic movies. If you're English, it's your patriotic duty to watch this one.

Steffen Austerheim – Epic Life Changing Device

Steffan Austerheim's new part on Free Skate Mag

Epic Life Changing Device is a new brand to me, an underground brand who have sick aesthetic and video structure. I really like the way their videos are made, whoever is behind the brands vision is a creative chap.

Speaking of creative chaps, Steffan Austerheim is a certified ledge weapon, rocking some 90's fits with some 90's tricks. Mega steeze, clean as f*ck. This one's right up my street.

I'll be keeping a close eye on ELCD, and I recommend you do too. I have to give a big shoutout to Free Skate Magazine, I find so many underground European skate companies through their videos being posted on Free's YouTube.

Leon Charo Tite’s CHARO Part

Leon Charo Tite drops a new part on QuarterSnacks

Leon Charo Tite's new part is filmed entirely in Berlin, featuring a lot of funky roll on grinds NinjaLifeStyle would hate, but I like them, the ride on nosegrind up hill was especially sick. He does a sick switch wallie on a rock too, I guess that's a rockie?

The editor tried to get away with one of those cuts where he rolls up and then it switches to the clip of him landing it... I hate that sh*t!

Overall though, I like Leon's perspective on skating

Brandon Burleigh American Zero Tough Cuts

Brandon Burleigh's rough cut from Zero's American Zero Video

Brandon Burleigh is a tough guy, who gets some tuff clips and as a consequence... takes some tough slams. Watch him battle through the process of filming a Zero part full of scary spots to get buck on.

Bam Margera “I Used To Skate” | THPS

Bam puts people who used to skate up to the test

Bam Margera, who I sometimes like, teams up with Tony Hawk's latest money grab where he remakes the same game from the 90's but makes it worse.

But anyway... the video's funny. Bam asks people who claim they used to skate some trivia questions or asks them to skate for him. I love this type of video, I like the 'Do a kickflip' series too.
