Casino Skateboards

Created in 2023 and built on pure community spirit, Casino Skateboards represents the most authentic Birmingham skate brand. Founded by Jamie 'OG' Hewett, a figure synonymous with the brum skateboarding scene, Casino emerged from Birmingham's tight-knit skate community that thrived around iconic spots like the Central Library and Paradise Forum. From their memorable deck graphics that capture the essence of Midlands street culture to their commitment to supporting local skateboarders through OG Distribution, Casino has consistently championed the grassroots scene while delivering world-class quality. Whether you're after premium 7-ply Canadian maple decks with original artwork that represents authentic UK street culture or supporting a brand that genuinely nurtures community growth, Casino Skateboards combines Birmingham resilience with skateboarding authenticity, built by skaters who understand that the best brands don't abandon their roots, they celebrate and elevate the communities that created them.

Casino Skateboards Brand History

Back in the legendary days of Birmingham's street skating golden era, when the Central Library's Brutalist architecture and Paradise Forum's sprawling concrete provided some of the UK's most iconic skate spots, Jamie 'OG' Hewett was building the experience that would eventually lead to Casino Skateboards. With over a decade in the skateboarding industry working in sales and event marketing, Hewett witnessed firsthand how Birmingham's scene thrived despite authorities installing skate-stoppers and criminalizing street skating in the mid-2000s. The vision for Casino crystallised around a simple but powerful idea: create a brand that truly embodies the essence of Birmingham's skateboarding culture while providing genuine support to the local community. Incorporated in June 2023, Casino Skateboards represents the culmination of Hewett's lifelong passion for skateboarding and community building, backed by OG Distribution, a completely skater-owned operation specialising in independent UK skateboard brands. From day one, Casino was envisioned as more than just another deck company; it's a community-centric brand committed to producing quality skateboard decks that meet the highest standards while representing the unique identity of Birmingham's street culture. Through their commitment to supporting local events, nurturing emerging talent, and maintaining genuine connections to the grassroots scene, Casino proves that authentic skateboarding brands emerge from real communities, not corporate boardrooms.

Casino Skateboards Team

Casino's team represents the next generation of Birmingham skateboarding talent, carefully selected riders who embody the brand's commitment to authentic street culture and community spirit. The roster includes promising local talent and established Birmingham legends who understand what makes the city's scene special, from the DIY spirit that created Bournbrook Skatepark (the UK's first volunteer-built park to gain official status) to the resilience that kept the scene alive through decades of spot closures and regeneration projects. What makes this team special is their genuine connection to Birmingham's skateboarding heritage, each rider contributing to Casino's mission of supporting and elevating the local community while representing the broader West Midlands scene. These aren't just sponsored riders collecting free boards; they're cultural ambassadors who understand that Casino represents something deeper than just skateboarding, it's about preserving and celebrating the authentic spirit of British street culture while nurturing the next generation of skaters who'll carry the scene forward. Through video parts, local sessions, and community events, the Casino team demonstrates that real skateboarding comes from the streets up, not the corporations down.
