Who are Village PM?
Village PM is a Paris-based skate footwear brand founded in 2024 by lifelong skaters Basile Lapray, Bram De Cleen and footwear specialist Julien Traverse (from All Triangles), with the aim of bringing genuine innovation back into skate shoes.
Their initial launch was highly anticipated and well-received by the skateboarding community. Instead of following the traditional skate shoe formula, Village PM applied climbing shoe technology, asymmetrical shaping, and wrap-around rubber construction to create a breath of fresh air in the skate shoe industry.
Village PM debuted with two models, the 1PM and 1:30PM,

Meet the Range: Village PM 1PM and 1.30PM Shoes
The Village PM skate shoes range starts with two core models, the 1PM and the 1.30PM. Both are built on the principle “form follows function,” taking everything skaters love in high-performance outdoor shoes and melding that with what the best skate footwear should deliver.

Village PM 1PM:
This flagship style is instantly recognisable thanks to its climbing-inspired wrap rubber rand and asymmetrical toebox, ideal for a grippy and responsive flick. The shoe’s fit is engineered for stability and comfort, and the durable toe cap and upper delivers better life over repeated kickflips and street sessions. Priced around £100, available in sizes from 4 all the way up to 12, it’s a shoe that doesn’t compromise.
Village PM 1.30PM:
The Village PM 1.30PM model takes the tech of climbing shoes and blends it into a more flexible, low-profile silhouette. You get the same grippy, long-lasting rubber, but with a subtle look that works anywhere. Available at around £80, it’s the best value in the Village PM Skate Shoes range, and it breaks in has surprisingly impressive durability and impact protection, considering it's their slimmer shoe.
Both shoes are offered in classic colours, with occasional seasonal releases and special editions in leather and seasonal shades.
Village PM: What's The Difference Between The 1PM & 1:30PM
Village PM: What’s The Difference Between The 1PM & 1:30PM
When comparing the 1PM and the 1:30PM, it's important to note that both shoes share many similarities: Both are constructed on climbing-shoe and running-shoe technology for grip, precision, and durability, but they have minor differences that separate the models.
The 1PM features a full climbing-rubber wraparound rand that extends beyond the toe cap to the sides and heel, combining protection with excellent flick and abrasion resistance. It's the thicker, chunkier style in the Village range. The construction tends to offer slightly more support and impact protection, making it ideal for skaters who get technical but still skate stairs and drops. They also have heel tabs that make them easier to slip on, and more importantly... look cool.
By contrast, the 1:30PM keeps the same core DNA — sticky climbing rubber, asymmetric precision fit and Rubber Glove Construction — but in a lighter, more flexible silhouette. It drops the full wraparound rand in favour of a cleaner, sleeker profile that breaks in faster and feels closer to classic vulcanised shoes (even though still technically a cupsole) while still offering great boardfeel and grip. Because of that, it can feel more direct and nimble than the 1PM
In short: the 1PM is about max durability and protection, while the 1:30PM leans into lightness and flexibility — both wrapped in Village PM’s innovative design.
1PM & 1:30PM - The Main Differences:
- Rubber Coverage: The 1PM has a more extensive wraparound rubber rand for added durability; the 1:30PM has reduced rubber coverage for a cleaner profile.
Overall Feel: The 1PM feels slightly more structured and protective; the 1:30PM feels lighter and more flexible.
Break-In Time: The 1:30PM generally breaks in faster due to its reduced rubber construction.
Durability Focus: The 1PM is built for maximum abrasion resistance, especially for heavy street skating.
Board Feel: The 1:30PM offers a more immediate, closer-to-the-board feel.
Silhouette: The 1PM has a slightly bulkier, more technical look; the 1:30PM appears slimmer and more streamlined.
Weight: The 1:30PM is typically lighter on foot compared to the 1PM.
Impact Protection: The 1PM offers marginally more reinforcement in high-wear zones.
Flexibility: The 1:30PM provides more natural flex straight out of the box.
Skate Preference: The 1PM suits skaters prioritising durability and longevity; the 1:30PM suits those prioritising flick, control, and agility.
In simple terms: 1PM = durability and protection. 1:30PM = lightness and flexibility.
Summary: The Differences between the 1PM & 1:30PM
At first glance, the 1PM and 1:30PM look like close siblings — and they are. They’re built from the same progressive blueprint, designed around precision fit, grip-focused rubber, and a performance-first mindset. The real difference isn’t in what they’re made for, but the weight, chunkiness and aesthetic you're looking for.
The 1PM has a more planted, locked-in sensation. It feels solid and deliberate underfoot, giving a more generic cupsole feel. There’s a sense of structure and consistency that you'd expect from a chunky shoe — something that holds its shape and performs the same session after session. It’s the pair you lace up when you want a slightly tougher, more dependable ride.
The 1:30PM is the lighter, slimmer option. It feels quicker, more reactive, and closer to your board straight away. There’s less of that “armoured” sensation and more freedom of movement, which makes it feel lively for flatground, ledge work, and technical skating. It’s responsive without feeling flimsy — just more stripped back and agile.
Both models reflect Village PM’s forward-thinking approach, but they cater to different preferences: one more grounded and steady, the other more fluid and dynamic.
