SKATEBOARDING NEWS THIS WEEK

Thrasher Weekend: New Balance Numeric in Philadelphia

New Balance Numeric Team Skate Philly Spots on a Thrasher Weekend Trip

The New Balance Numeric team has some of the best-known heavy hitters in modern skateboarding, including Andrew Reynolds, Jamie Foy, Brandon Westgate, Tiago Lemos and more.

This Thrasher Weekend episode follows the NB Numeric team to a bunch of street spots and a demo in Philadelphia. There's bangers, scary spots, security encounters and wholesome crew vibes from a bunch of legends. Unbelievable tekkers. It is filmed a little... too cinematic for me at times though.

Weirdo 01 - NYC & Andrew Wilson

Krooked Skate on tape to The Smiths & Neil Young

Krooked's release part 1 of a 5-part series called 'Weirdo', filmed on some oldddd camcorder. God knows what they're filming on but I think it's cool.

The opening Weirdo episode features the likes of Mike Anderson, Mark Gonzalez, Tom Knox & Andrew Wilson skating New York City. My favourite part is when the Krooked team skate Gonz's curb.

Joe Hinsons' "TECHNÊ" Part

Joe Hinson Releases long awaited part for Technê

Handrail merchant Joe Hinson has released a part on Thrasher Magazine - Big moves Joe! Joe's part has been whispered about around the West Midlands during its filming, so I was happy to see it finally pop up on YouTube.

After leaving Darkstar, Joe joined Technê Skateboards and turned pro 🏆 There are some absolute bangers in here, and Joe definitely proved himself as pro AF in this one.

Ben Patrick for Coda Skateboards

Ben Patrick x Greg Szudzik for Coda Skateboards

Greg Szudzik did a swell job filming and editing Ben Patrick’s new part for Coda Skateboards. I’m not too familiar with Coda, but I always enjoy watching Ben skate.

The part was uploaded by Village Psychic, a channel whose origin I still don't know, although they consistently post solid skating.

The skating audio in this one is a little quiet, but it feels intentional. Greg clearly knows what he’s doing, using an unusual tune and some questionable angles to create a distinct atmosphere that sets the part apart.

15 Years of Magenta - MIXTAPE

Magenta Skateboards Turns 15 Years Old

French brand Magenta Skateboards has been a staple for European skate companies, becoming internationally known.

Magenta Skateboards was founded in Paris in 2010 by three French skateboarders—Sourya “Soy” Panday and brothers Vivien Feil and Jean Feil.

Magenta film using the Sony VX1000, taking creative lines filmed on fish eye lenses to another level.

Here's a little mixtape they've made to celebrate their 15-year milestone, with a compilation of clips from Magenta videos 'Microcosme', the 'Hill Street Blues' & 'Just Cruise' series, 'Panic in Gotham', 'Soleil Levant', 'Balade', 'Magentapes', 'Brutalista' & more

JP Souza releases a sick part on Free Skate MAg

Continuing on the French theme, JP Souza has released a full part on Free Skate Mag skating to a badboy French hip-hop tune. He has final boss level ledge tekkers.

CHEAP MOTEL "ROOM171".

Cheap Motel's First Video - Room 171, filmed in Lisbon

Daniel Galli's new company, Cheap Motel, kicks off with a 22-minute bang, filled with talent, good times and Portuguese skate spot goodness. The team is great, as well as the filming, spots and seemingly, the goods look sweet too. I'm sure they'll do bits for the Lisbon scene.

Deep Fried Cookout

Deep Fried brings us a San Francisco banger

The San Francisco scene is nuts; I don't know what's more impressive... the skaters or the spots. Deep Fried brought us a quality video with this one, featuring a massive roster of legends skating to some jazz bangers, rock bangers and more down the inclines and stair sets of San Francisco.

Watch TJ Rogers Switch Bigspinnijng a fat stairset for an Independent Trucks advert

TJ Rogers is the best dude, beat testicular cancer, always smiling, wears cool baggy fits with puffy éS shoes... just an overall legend. HOWEVER... I thought he needed to redo this and it didn't even show the ad. WTF!

Watch his process of doing a switch bigspin for an Independent Trucks ad featured in Thrasher Magazine.
