Do the DC JS 1 Skate Shoes fit true to size?

For most skaters, yes. DC come up true to size, so stick with your usual UK size. The hook-and-loop strap adds extra lockdown so they hold your foot securely, and if you're between sizes, go half a size up.


What are the DC JS 1 made from, and will they hold up?

The JS 1 is John Shanahan's pro shoe and it's built tough, with a premium full-grain leather and suede upper, a TPR heel stabiliser and DC's super rubber Pill Pattern outsole. It's one of the more heavy-duty shoes in the DC line, made to take a beating on rougher terrain.


What's the strap for, and how do they feel underfoot?

The standout feature is the detachable hook-and-loop strap with moulded TPU eyelets, which locks your foot in for extra support, and you can take it off for a cleaner look. Underfoot there's a faux-leather sock liner with an EVA heel cradle and an EVA Strobel board, so it's a cushioned, supportive cupsole aimed at protection.
