Do the DC JS2 Skate Shoes fit true to size?

For most skaters, yes. DC shoes usually come up true to size, so we’d recommend sticking with your usual UK shoe size. If you’re between sizes or you’ve got a wider foot, going half a size up can give you a bit more room without the shoe feeling too loose. The foam padded collar and tongue help keep your foot nicely locked in either way.

What are the DC JS2 Skate Shoes made from, and will they hold up to skating?

The DC JS2 is built with a mainly suede feel, alongside premium full grain leather upper construction details. That gives you the classic hard-wearing skate shoe feel, with enough durability for day-to-day skating. Suede is a favourite for skate shoes because it handles grip tape abrasion better than canvas and breaks in nicely over time. Like any skate shoe, they’ll eventually wear in the ollie zone, but the JS2 is made to be skated.

Are the DC JS2 comfortable enough to skate and wear all day?

Definitely. The DC JS2 has a foam padded collar and tongue to cradle your foot, plus a PU sock liner with an EVA heel cradle for extra step-in comfort. The EVA strobel board also adds cushioning underfoot, so you get that padded DC feel without the shoe feeling like a brick. They’re a solid option for skating, walking around town, or just wearing as an everyday chunky skate shoe.

What is the DC JS2's board feel like, and what skating do they suit?

The DC JS2 has more of a classic padded cupsole feel rather than a super thin vulc feel. That means you get more cushioning, support and impact protection underfoot, while the Super Rubber DC Pill Pattern outsole still gives you reliable grip on the board. They’re well suited to street skating, ledges, flatground and anyone who prefers a bit more padding around the foot. If you like ultra-thin shoes with loads of direct board feel, these might feel a little chunkier, but that is exactly why a lot of people like them.

How do I look after the suede on the DC JS2?

Use a suede protector spray before the first wear to help repel water and dirt. After that, a suede brush is your best mate for lifting the nap and getting rid of surface muck. Try to avoid the washing machine, hot water and direct heat, as that can damage the suede and affect the shape of the shoe. The gum outsole gives the shoe that proper classic skate look and helps keep the grip feeling nice and reliable.
