Enjoi Skateboards

Enjoi is one of those skateboard brands that never needed to take itself too seriously to be taken seriously.

Founded in 2000, the brand became known for its instantly recognisable panda logo, funny graphics, creative videos and a team packed with some of the most stylish and entertaining skateboarders of the era.

After a difficult period under corporate ownership, Enjoi disappeared from skate shops for a while. Now, after years of work, Louie Barletta has regained control of the brand and Enjoi is officially back in the hands of skateboarders.

The Story of Enjoi Skateboards

Enjoi was originally started by Marc Johnson in 2000, with Rodney Mullen also closely involved during the brand’s early years.

From the beginning, Enjoi stood apart from the more serious skateboard companies around at the time. The graphics were colourful, weird and funny, while the team felt more like a group of mates than a carefully managed sports brand.

That approach helped Enjoi build a proper identity. It was not just about putting a logo on a deck. The humour, videos, adverts and personalities behind the brand all felt connected.

The panda eventually became one of the most recognisable logos in skateboarding.

The Enjoi Panda Logo

The Enjoi panda is simple, slightly miserable-looking and almost impossible to mistake for anything else.

Over the years, it has appeared across countless skateboard decks, complete skateboards, clothing pieces and accessories. For a lot of skaters who grew up during the 2000s, the panda is tied to a specific era of skateboarding.

It represents what Enjoi has always been about: good skating, good graphics and having fun without acting overly serious about everything.

Enjoi’s Skate Team

Enjoi has had a ridiculous list of skateboarders connected to the brand over the years.

Previous team riders have included Marc Johnson, Jerry Hsu, Louie Barletta, Cairo Foster, Caswell Berry, Wieger van Wageningen, Jose Rojo, Zack Wallin and Ben Raemers.

The team was a massive part of Enjoi’s identity. Riders were chosen because they brought personality and style to the brand, not just because they could put together a contest run.

Louie Barletta became one of the key figures behind Enjoi, eventually taking over as brand manager and helping protect the identity of the company as ownership around it changed.

Bag of Suck and Enjoi’s Skate Videos

A huge part of Enjoi’s reputation came from its skate videos.

The best-known is Bag of Suck, released in 2006. The video featured a mix of serious skateboarding, stupid jokes and the kind of team chemistry that is difficult for a brand to fake.

It became one of the defining skateboard videos of the 2000s and helped cement Enjoi’s reputation as a brand that could produce proper skateboarding without draining all the fun out of it.

Later Enjoi releases included Tweak the Beef, Oververt and the Panda Patrol series.

What Happened to Enjoi Skateboards?

Enjoi originally operated under Dwindle Distribution, which later went through a series of ownership changes.

As the business moved further into corporate and private-equity ownership, problems began to appear behind the scenes. Team riders, artists and filmers reportedly faced delayed or missing payments, while the people who had built the brand had less control over its direction.

In 2023, Louie Barletta announced that he was leaving Enjoi after more than two decades. He explained that the company no longer felt like the team-and-friendship-led brand he had spent years helping to build.

Without Louie and much of its team, Enjoi effectively disappeared in the form that skateboarders recognised.

Is Enjoi Skateboards Back?

Yes. Enjoi Skateboards is officially back.

After roughly three years of trying to regain the brand, Louie Barletta announced in 2026 that control of Enjoi had returned to him.

The comeback means Enjoi is once again being led by someone who genuinely understands the brand, its history and what the panda means to skateboarders.

Fresh Enjoi decks, complete skateboards and accessories are now being released, with the brand returning to independent skate shops rather than existing as a name controlled from a corporate office.

Who Owns Enjoi Skateboards Now?

Enjoi is now back under the control of Louie Barletta.

Louie spent more than 20 years connected to the company as a team rider and brand manager, making him one of the people most closely associated with Enjoi after its original launch.

The wider setup is connected to Sidewalk Distribution, which was formed by Louie Barletta, Bill Weiss, Steve Douglas and Bod Boyle to create a more skater-led home for skateboard brands.

Enjoi Skateboard Decks and Completes

Enjoi produces skateboard decks, complete skateboards, bearings and other skate accessories.

The decks are known for their panda graphics, bright artwork and straightforward skate-focused shapes. Many use seven-ply maple constructions designed for regular street and park skating.

Enjoi complete skateboards offer a ready-built option for newer skaters or anyone who wants a full setup without selecting every component individually.
