SKATEBOARDING NEWS THIS WEEK
Tyshawn Jones Sues Supreme for £26.5million
Why Tyshawn Jones Is Suing Supreme
Tyshawn Jones, two-time Thrasher Magazine "Skater of the Year," had a 13-year relationship with Supreme, beginning at age 13. In September 2024, Supreme terminated his $1 million-a-year sponsorship contract, citing an "incurable breach" after Jones appeared in a Marc Jacobs photoshoot. Jones contends that Supreme had previously supported his participation in similar campaigns for other high-profile brands, such as Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga, without objection. He says that the termination was a pretext for cost-cutting measures ahead of Supreme's sale to Luxottica, and that the brand spread false claims about him, damaging his reputation and career. The lawsuit seeks $1.25 million in unpaid earnings and $25 million in damages for reputational harm.
Current Developments in the Lawsuit
Since the filing on May 12, 2025, Supreme has not publicly responded to the allegations. Jones has said that his decision to sue Supreme is driven by a sense of duty to himself and to future generations of skateboarders, wanting them to be treated like real workers, emphasising the importance of respecting the contributions of young talent in the industry. While the case proceeds in court, Jones continues his other ventures, including his own firm, King Skateboards, and new collaborations with brands like Louis Vuitton.
Nike SB | Paul Rodriguez | The One
Paul Rodriguez rereleasing his first Nike SB Pro Model Skate Shoe
Take a trip down memory lane with P-Rod and his journey with Nike SB. The Nike SB P-Rod 1 originally debuted in 2005, marking the beginning of Paul Rodriguez's signature line with Nike SB.
The 2025 reissue is a faithful recreation of the original, featuring a premium leather upper, mesh tongue, and the signature P-Rod patterned sidewalls wrapping the heel. It's a sick looking shoe, and P-Rod's a skateboarding legend. Perfect combo... he loves a pay cheque too.
Henry Rising - Hopewell
Henry Rising's London Video
Starring Grant Hopewell, with support from Harris Swinnerton, Sam Hill, Xav, and Monty Payne, Henry Rising drops an underground 6 minute London video. Keep it up fellas.
The colours in this video are wild, which I'd usually moan about, but it gives it a pretty cool look. Also, just a friendly shout fellas, cut the uneventful b-roll and failed tricks after the land.

"480P" NEW BALANCE NUMERIC X BRONZE56K

Bronze 56k Team Up with New Balance with a 480
New Balance Numeric release a metalic collaborative 480 with Bronze 56K, which is kinda cool. I'm not really feeling this colourway on this one, but they are tasteful.
To accompany the Numeric 480's, they released a 4 minute edit with Jordan trahan, Sean Paul (Not Sean da Paul), Billy McFeely (What a name) and Marcello Campanello. Unsurprisingly, there's some quality unique clips showcasing the creps. The Bronze dude wearing the shoes was a nice touch 😂

Skating a Rail Across the Carlsbad Water Gap!
Dern Brothers and Madars Apse do some DIY at The Carlsbad Water Gap
As the name suggests, the Dern Brothers and Madars Apse take a new approach to skating the infamous Carlsbad Water Gap by bringing a flatbar. Dern Brothers' video are always entertaining and educational. W YouTube skaters who shred.
Hardest Good - Chris Millic
Chris Millic in the latest Hardest Good Feature
I love Hardest Good. I don't know who's behind the channel, but I enjoy the fact the videos have no music, they're just a couple minutes long and filmed well.
This episode is Frog Skateboards and Last Resort's Chris Millic. Chris is funky, has a wicked style, he's funny and wears bad ass hats sometimes. There's a lot of weird and wonderful DIY creations in this one.

Justin Stout - Yew!
Justin Stout's Florida Crew Video
Don't get me wrong, I like underground projects just uploaded by the filmer, but there's loads recently! This one being in Florida. Clean clips at boring tarmac covered spots that look very hot. Lots of sweat, high exposure and good skating. Fair play lads... too much B-roll though. There's more falling over than actual clips near the end. Snoozefest at parts.
