Highlight Clip
MMXX VISION - IN PARIS & LONDON.
10 Days in Paris & London with MMXX
Featuring Blondey and classic music, this video is feeling pretty British from the get-go. Not only is the music classy, the skating is too, marvellous trick selection on some exquisite spots.
Highlight Clip
jarryd - blink (and u will miss it)
This week's underground skate video
Jarryd is a pretty small YouTube channel but when I seen the likes of Grabriel Summers and Nick Boserio in the lineup, I knew it would blog worthy. The tune's pretty awful but the skating is quality.
Highlight Clip
Cherries Wheels - SUGAR
New wheel company, Cherry Wheels, releases a 12-minute team video
Cherry Wheels, a small new wheel company releases a cool team video featuring a bunch of solid impossibles and a crew having a real good time. The skill levels not crazy but everything's clean and the project is well put together. Thumbs up 👍🏻
Skate 4 is releasing TOMORROW
After 15 years, Skate 4 is finally here, simply called 'SKATE'
After a decade and a half of anticipation, the new SKATE game is finally landing. SKATE 1, SKATE 2 and SKATE 3 are all absolutely goated, but I've had serious concerns that the new one will be a sh*t EA money grab.
Man, the wait since Skate 3 has been brutal — over a decade of people begging EA to bring it back, and every year it felt less likely. That gap kind of turned Skate 3 into a legend, with clips, memes, and “when’s Skate 4?” comments popping up everywhere. When EA finally announced the new Skate, the reaction was filled with nerves, and people loved hearing it’s being built with community input. However, the game being free worries me... it's EA! I'll be paying a tenner for virtual SB dunks won't I? The alpha / beta footage looked awful too... please be good!
Myles Willard - Vacant Street Blues
Myles Willard's part from Vacant Street Blues on Vague Skate Mag
Vague Skate Mag highlights Myles Willard's part from Benjamin Schmidt’s full-length video ‘Vacant Street Blues'. I've never seen the video but certainly will pick up the DVD after seeing Myles' part. The filming and spot selection is immaculate.
Highlight Clip
Yudai Haze - WHERE WE SAW THE LIGHT
Yudai Haze's part from Ryota Anjiki's full length video "Where We Saw The Light"
Vague Skate Mag also bring us a highlight part from Ryota Anjiki's full-length video "Where We Saw The Light". Yudai Haze is such a smooth operator, and so is his cameraman, Ryota, who used a slow shutter speed to create the coolest aesthetic intro I've ever seen - so sick! The tune, spots, filming, tricks.., all spot on.
Highlight Clip
ROUGH CUT: Kevin Bækkel's "Bad Trip" Part
Kevin Bækkel's bad falls from his bad trip part
Thrasher Magazine bring us Kevin Bækkel's complicated name and his complicated process of filming his Bad Trip part. He's a really powerful skater who tackles some outrageous spots.
Highlight Clip
Manny Santiago's 'THIS IS 40' Part
Manny Santiago celebrates his 40th birthday with bangers
Manny Santiago is a skateboarding legend who just turned 40 years old. To celebrate, he released a gnarly, mega impressive part! This isn't a youthful part, it's an experienced vet part. I don't really like the camera they used to film the part, but it's all good. Big up Manny for skating at such a high level for such a long time.
Highlight Clip
Marcelo Jiménez / Arms Up / Chapter II / Norden
Marcelo Jiménez on a Europe trip
I don't know who Marcelo Jiménez is, but he's ace. Watch him skate Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark in the most cinematic video of the week. It's an unusual watch, which is why I featured it. He has a mong push too, like Emile Laurent, which I'm a big fan of.
