This week, Thrasher have brought the Widowmaker back from the dead, Jack O'Grady takes us through the side of skate life that does not fit neatly into a two-minute part and REAL have joined forces with Krooked for a very stacked West Coast trip.

We have also got Daewon talking shoe tekkers, a very nice-looking Nike SB and Ben-G film, new skate parts from Japan and Indonesia, plus Daisy Buchanan and Madalena Galante making several European cities look particularly inviting.

Get a brew on. Here is the latest...

SKATEBOARDING NEWS

Death Match 2026 Video

Thrasher resurrect the Widowmaker and invite everybody

Twenty-four minutes of Skate Rock, high-desert dust and people going proper high 🚀. The Widowmaker is properly back, with Bob Burnquist, Grant Taylor, Tom Schaar, Asahi Kaihara and an extremely deep crew turning the place into a full skate circus.

The live music and American wasteland atmosphere stop it from feeling too contesty. It is loud, pretty sketchy and packed with transition skating from several generations. Burnquist still looks completely at home flying around terrain and catching some quality hang time. With a name like Death Match, the chaos was to be expected.

Out There: Jack O'Grady

Jack O'Grady talks injuries, loss and finding his way back

Thrasher's Out There series is a nifty series showcasing the day-to-day outings of skaters. In this one, Jack O'Grady speaks about injuries, losing a close friend and learning how to come back stronger when life has properly knocked you about.

There is still plenty of the good skate footage you would expect from Jack, but he also opens up in this one, discussing important topics and the tougher parts of life.

REAL x Krooked - Good Company Tour

The women of Deluxe take the West Coast

REAL and Krooked combine skate teams for five minutes of West Coast goodness, travelling from Potrero Hill up to Portland's Burnside Bridge. Two of Deluxe's best brands sharing one van is already a fairly reliable recipe for a good American skate video.

The crew hit up parks, streets and crust without the edit turning into an advert for a collaboration nobody asked for. Good Company is exactly what it says it is - a strong group having a laugh and stacking some clips. It's a pretty cool concept, I wish they woud make a new King Of The Road and just put it on youtube.

Nike SB x Ben-G - AF-1 City Pack

Ben-G turn an Air Force 1 launch into a proper skate film

JM Sneep filmed and edited this fourteen-minute city tour for Amsterdam shop Ben-G and Nike SB. Bert Wilmink, Tijmen Overbeek, Tjerk Oosting, Keet Oldenbeuving, Aaron Tiekink and a massive crew put in the work.

It is technically a money-making Nike shoe video, but thankfully nobody forgot the skate part. Fourteen minutes is generous; it seems relatively long in this era. The large cast and changing locations make it feel like proper skate shop content with an actual identity, rather than campaign content with three tricks fitted around product close-ups, although it holds its fair share of B-roll.

Daewon Song Glenburn Adidas Skate Test

Daewon's new Adidas gets put through its paces

NKA takes the Adidas Glenburn x Daewon Song out for a proper skate test, so essentially its just another shoe ad from the other corporate giants.. It is twelve minutes of real use, boardfeel chat and the sort of detail that matters when you are actually buying shoes to skate for a few months.

Daewon's involvement is obviously the headline, but the useful bit is seeing the shoe skated and discussed. I'd of probably never clicked it if daewon wasn't in it, and I'm not buying the shoes. But Daewon and NKA are cool.

Kaede Terauchi - Brain Control

Kaede Terauchi spins through Japan for Number:A

Kaede Terauchi's part from the new Number:A video was filmed across Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Osaka, Shiga and Mie. Naoya handled the main filming, with extra footage from Kenya Koto, Daiyu Suzuki, Issei Morinaka and Kotaro Kawai.

The result is five minutes of sharp board control and quick direction changes. Kaede makes technical skate ideas look much less complicated than they are, while the Japanese spots provide the clean surfaces and shiny shapes that suit the skating perfectly. Another fine example of Japanese street skating.

Volcom - Orient

Made Richi and Hafizd make Indonesia look very good

Volcom have been pushing some skate videos out lately. This one is a five-minute Volcom piece featuring Made Richi and Hafizd. There is not even a paragraph of brand waffle attached to it - just two skaters, a filmer and some decent skate spots.

The spots and street life give Orient its own character, and the skating feels properly connected to the place instead of dropped onto it. More local skate films should look like this. It is polished without sanding off everything interesting, and it makes a strong argument for booking a flight even if your bank account says otherwise.

Andrew Reynolds NB Numeric 933 Skate Test

Seven days in Andrew Reynolds' New Balance Numeric 933

NKA also reviews the NB# 933, Andrew Reynolds' pro model. NKA spent seven days skating the New Balance Numeric 933 before giving the verdict. That is just enough time to get past the fresh-out-the-box stage with the 933 and find out how it holds up and perfroms.

At fifteen minutes, this is a properly thorough skate shoe review covering fit, feel, durability and how the 933 changes as it breaks in. Reynolds' first signature New Balance model has had plenty of attention, so it is useful to see somebody genuinely put miles into a pair instead of reading the same press release rewritten twelve times.

Daisy & Madalena

Two friends, five cities and a lovely skate video

Daisy Buchanan and Madalena Galante meet up between their home cities of Edinburgh and Lisbon, with Paris, London and Valencia added to the journey. Rafael Semedo edited the film from footage by Semedo, Daniel Galli, Will Miles, Luke Kroon and José Valduga.

It is a beautifully shot wholesome skate vid, and both shred on the trip. You get different cities and skate spots, but the video still feels coherent rather than like several unrelated trips emptied onto one timeline. Pocket Skate Mag have presented it simply and let Daisy and Madalena do the talking on the board.

Five to One: Aaron Jago

Cars, Dartmoor, Exeter and an unfortunately placed flatbar

Harry Deane heads to Devon to spend a day with Okehampton's Aaron Jago. They begin with a track day at Castle Combe, visit Exeter Arena skatepark and Aaron's local, then a flatbar wipes out his ankle before the plan has properly finished.

The rest becomes a wander through Dartmoor with Aaron's dog Pablo and a visit to a low-key car bodyshop. Elliot Jago, Sam Pulley, Adam Ulvede and Matt Keen also appear. Five to One remains good because it allows the day to go wrong. A real skate day rarely follows the plan, and not every skate film needs a heroic ending and twelve makes, sometimes you just need a good day out with mates.
