"You've gotta f*ckin' die to get 3 points!”

Neil Warnock

Welcome to another episode of

'Heard It On The Great Vines'

where we talk about the latest skateboarding videos, skateboard magazines, brands, skatewear & gossip that's been released over the last week.

Jamuary flew by!

🌦️ Spring will be here before we know it ☀️

2026 is in full effect and we'll be skating in shorts before you know it.

SKATEBOARDING NEWS

Rishy's Video

Scott Rishworth & Daniel Jochems' 17-minute video filmed in New Zealand

10/10 video. I won't glaze it too much, but I will say that this is the best video of the week 🏆🥇

26 talented chaps I've never heard of star in this one through Scott 'Rishy' Rishworth's lens, with the footage edited by Daniel Jochem. I'm English and didn't know either of them but now, I'm a big fan.

The filming is top shelf, Rishy did a good job the angles and the redish scene file on his camcorder. The editing is fast-paced, and the soundtrack is epic. The skating meets the same high standards.

David Loy’s “XX” Birdhouse Part

David Loy drops a part for Birdhouse out of the blue

Painted fingernails, blue hair and scary lipslides are obviously all included in this David Loy part. 22 years after joining Birdhouse, David Loy drops another quality part for the classic brand.

I'm a big fan of David's trick selection, and this is a chunky 7-minute part that was better than I expected it to be. I don't rate the music but it's just nice to see David Loy still shredding! I usually just see him hanging out with Nyjah Huston in my recent memory

Ishin Denshin: A Carhartt WIP Skate Film

Carhartt WIP take a bunch of their riders on a trip across Asai

Carhartt WIP take some of their team from Asia, Europe, and the US on a trip across Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya 🇯🇵. Japanese spots are so sick, they're perfect, and the backdrop always looks scenic through the fish eye.

Carhartt have barged their corporate asses into skateboarding over the past few years, but atleast they make good, durable clothes and have money to pay riders. On the flip side, they have 0 roots in skateboarding and are using popularity in streetwear and workwear as their credibility. But anyway... every industry is dominated by the man now: Cry about it or swallow reality

Joey Brezenski's JOB now

Skate Informant returns and talks about what Joey Brezenski has been up to

We haven't seen much of Joey Brezenski for a while, so Skate Informant did some digging... and found out he's been a postman for the past 2 years 📬.

This is proof that there's not much financial longevity in professional skateboarding unless you approach the second half of your career correctly.

VICTORIA - BUMP TO BED

Victoria Hong Kong bump straight to bed in a 9-minute project

Victoria HK from Hong Kong have blessed us with a true Hong Kong street vid with a great soundtrack and dream spots. Much like Japan, Hong Kong have a ludicrous amount of marble ledges and perfect, smooth street spots. To accompany the spots, the Victoria team is sick!

This Skate Village Is Africa Is WILD

A look into Uganda's emerging skateboarding community

African skateboarding is on the rise, which is awesome! Take a look into the Kiteezi, Uganda skatepark and it's local community, filled with absolute legends and dodgy obstacles.

The skatepark is really popular, made in association with Climate Skaters Kiteezi. Some of its members skate a few hours just to get to the park. The ramps, ground and space are unforgiving to say the least. It's truly incredible to see the progression of these guys with such limited resources. One dude is skating with no shoes on... What's your excuse?

Big up TheSkateNomad (Mike) for highlighting their space.

There's a link to donate to these guys in the video's description if you wanna help hook them up with some shoes and hardware.

"The Table" Vlog w/ Tiago, Westgate, Birch & many more

Pocket Skate Mag teams up with New Balance Numeric to put a table in a room

The New Balance Numeric team is undoubtedly one of the most talented skate teams out there right now. Watch them freeze their titties off in Copenhagen as they seek shelter and skate some benches.

The whole idea of the event is to appreciate how important picnic/schoolyard benches are to skateboarding. Don't get me wrong, the skating is brilliant as these guys always are, but I do think the event's obstacles and layout were bland.

Mattheus De Bronks

Take a trip around Barcelona with Matheus De Bronks

Matteus De Bronks is a stylish fella with a powerful pop. He was born in Brazil 🇧🇷 and moved to Barcelona 🇪🇸 in search of better skate spots. Get a full day in the life of Barcelona skateboarding with Matteus, his friends and his cute dog.

Daniel Ledermann & Matheus Du Bronks' UNITED III - Philippines

Now, watch Matheus Du Bonks' and Daniel Ledermann skate in the Philipines

Matteus De Bronks is joined by Daniel Ledermann and friends in the Philippines. After Daniel and Matheus linked up in Europe for the first UNITED video, they reconnected for UNITED II in Matheus’ hometown, São Paulo, Brazil. For United III, they took it to the Philippines—back to Daniel’s roots.

I really enjoy the UNITED series on Pocket Skate Mag. The 4:3 gritty filming and music in this episode give it a real jungle/Pilipino vibe - I love it. There are about half a dozen filmers involved, so props to them.

New Balance Numeric | Intervals Jamie Foy | Selects

A 70-minute rough-cut of Jamie Foy

70 straight minutes of Jamie Foy's process: From start to finish. I don't know who has 70 minutes of spare time to watch Jamie skate terrifying spots, but it's there in excess if you want it.

I'm not always a fan of New Balance Numeric's filming style in their videos, but I really enjoyed how they put 'Intervals' together and how they're releasing all the raw footage so people can watch pro skaters full process.

Doing Too Much

Jean-Luc Vida's LA video

LA filmer Jean-Luc Vida gathers his friends to make a homies video for Free Skate Mag. It's filmed well and has some neat clips in it. The soundtrack and boring B-roll weren't my cup of tea, but the squad and spots were a delight.
