🎅🏼 IT'S CHRISTMASSSSSSS 🎄
SKATEBOARDING NEWS THIS WEEK
Zero Skateboards 'Heaven's Gate'
Who are Zero Skateboards?
Zero Skateboards, founded in 1996 by pro skater Jamie Thomas, quickly made a name for itself in the skateboarding world. Their iconic videos, "Thrill of It All" (1997) and "Misled Youth" (1999), showcased raw street skating and gnarly tricks, inspiring countless skaters. Although not a leading brand today, Zero continues to influence skate culture with its gothic, dark branding and heritage.
Another Jamie Thomas Masterpiece
This Zero video kicks off with some hardcore punk over the top of Vinny Dalfio's part. His section is action-packed, starting with him ripping his ass cheeks to shreds, followed by a collection of bangers, including a deck tap to 5050 on a handrail 🤯 & a tre flip hippy jump to 5050 on a curb. A Great part!
Kurt Hodge's section includes some savage sacks on rails. Kurt skates everything in his part, from curbs to handrails, banks to walls. A full section of gold 💪.
Adam Arunski fully showed up too, tackling some impressive gap spots and holding some long smith grinds on some unique rails.
Keenan Dern got the final part. You may recognise him from when we review Dern Brothers' videos that review spots. He gets knocked out in his part 😴, heelflips a hot tub and drops in on a roof shaped like a vert ramp (He looks tiny up there!). Bam Margera makes an appearance, celebrating a fat kinked handrail handled by Keenan.
Jamie Thomas & Vinny Dalfio directed this one. It had about a dozen filmers so we'll say as a collective... the Zero team killed it with this one. Give it a watch.
Dime MTL GLORY: THE LEGEND OF DIME - Coming Soon...
We got it mixed up 🤦🏼♂️
We said last week that Dime MTL's new video is dropping on on Saturday 30th November, but apologies! They're premiering it from 30/11 until late this week, so it's not released to the public yet.
It will drop either this weekend or next at a guess, so keep your patience, it'll be worth the wait.
Dime's one of our favourite and most popular brands. They have such a respected and bulletproof reputation, so I'm sure this one's gonna be a gem.
3 Years in the making, 30 minutes of pain. Thank God it’s over 🙏 - Dime
SK8MAFIA PROMO 2024
Who are Sk8mafia?
Sk8mafia, founded by Dan Connelly in San Diego in the mid-2000s, is a skate brand rooted in camaraderie and raw street skating. Known for their underground vibe, they’ve built a strong following through authentic core brand identity in skateboarding and videos like las years promo, Sk8mafia Video 2023. Their roster includes skaters like Wes Kremer, Alexis Ramirez, and TJ Rogers, all adding unique flair.
Sk8mafia's 2024 Promo
This years annual promo blessing from Sk8mafia features loads of night clips through the fisheye with the light 🔦. They always look sickkkkk.
Masaki Hongo has a unique brain, deciding back bluntslide dolphin flip and rolling off a roof switch is what the video should kick off with. Brandon Turner solidifies his switch hardflip champ status. Stephen Lawyers has some unique manoeuvres, similar to Tyler Surray who threw a massive kickflip hippy jump in there.
My two favourites from Sk8mafia, Wes Kremer and TJ Rogers absolutely killed it as always. Wes gives us a line with a peach of a manny kickflip, as well as some mad spins like ollie body varial 180. TJ is still wearing the baggiest jeans you've ever seen and still throwing ledge tech that brings a tear to your eye, this time throwing in some ledge to manny moves.
The whole team brought the Sk8mafia experience, an underground crew simply out there to get some 💪.
Didrik Galasso's (DEEDZ) "Uneven" Part
Who is Deedz?
Didrik Galasso, better known as Deedz, has been making a big splash in the skateboarding pool over the past couple of years, with parts that get people talking, sporting a wicked crook and wavey style.
He's been a little on and off for me, doing a hell of a lot of ride on grinds with a bit of a goofy style. I've also hated every song in every one of his previous parts. When I seen he called this one 'Uneven', I thought it may be because he always looks uneven.
Deedz steps it up a level
But this one's won me over. Not the music, that still sucks... and his first tricks still a roll on 5050, but a sick one. What wins me over is the spot selection and thinking that went behind the clips. It's a unique part with a lot of twists to the tale.
In this part, Deedz holds onto one of the coolest curved crooked grinds ever and does a drop-down front noseblunt that is bananas. He tackles his fair share of absolutely petrifying rails in this part, so has definitely earned his hype.
The word 'unique' has been featured a lot in this week's episode. Everyone's thinking outside the box 👍🏻 I may nitpick flaws in Deedz, but it's undeniable he's a very funky and talented skateboarder, and I enjoyed this part!
Braden Hoban's "Catalyst" Part
Braden Hoban Keeps Getting Better
Wonderkid Braden Hoban is becoming more of a superman, releasing his new part, in which he smoothly operates some very valid handrails for a straight 10 minutes 🤯
Braden skates big handrails, hubbas and drops with a blend of impressive tech and simple hammer. And he makes it look well easy. To be fair, he looked a little flustered doing that front feeble where one side of the rail was success and the other side was a likely death.
As expected, it's an incredible part with some pretty mid tunes 👍🏻 Sorry you have to read my music taste in skate videos, feel free to send me hate mail at 35 Drury Lane, Solihull ❤️
