SKATEBOARDING NEWS THIS WEEK

New Balance Numeric 'INTERVALS'

The one we've been waiting for

Las week we had a gander at New Balance Numeric's teaser video for their big release 'Intervals', which dropped on Saturday.

People have been waiting on this one worldwide, as it features full parts from 3 of New Balance Numeric's leading skaters: Brandon Westgate 🐐, Tiago Lemos 🇧🇷 & Jamie Foy 👹

The Roster

The 3 heavy hitters in the lineup are hyped up for good reason.

Brandon Westgate has been dropping legendary parts since the early 2000's and is currently keeping Element alive, throwing the fattest ollies and kickflips as clean as a whistle.

Tiago Lemos is a Brazilian skater cut from a different cloth. Tiago's got everything but is most known for skating shoulder height ledges and switch back tailing things that shouldn't be switch back tail-able.

Big boy Jamie Foy is best known for having an unreal Frontside Krooked Grind and hitting some major handrails. But he's not just about going big, he's been getting mega technical this year also. We reckon he's gonna get Skater Of The Year 2024, but he doesn't skate for Adidas so he might not 👀

Westgate, Lemos & Foy's Parts in 'Intervals'

Undeniably, all three absolutely killed it with their parts. And the music's pretty sweet on all three parts. All different genres, but they fit together nicely

Brandon Westgate did an A-frame gap which is going bonkers on Instagram right now, as well as attacking some mahoosive bump-to-bars. He does a kickflip up a ledge at about 60mph to set up for one of his lengthy ollies. His part further solidifies him with the legendary status he deserves in the skate industry, it's what the people want to see.

Tiago's part has several standout points. My favourite trick of his is a nollie back tailslide on a nipple height ledge 🤯 His switch game is bonkers in this one also, throwing a massive switch backside nose blunt on an infamous ledge (which I've forgotten the name of... what a sh*t blogger)

Jamie Foy goes ham in his part too, doing the longest front bluntslide I've ever seen down a double kink... and the longest front feeble I've ever seen on some big semi-circle ledge.

THE SPIKE

Robin William's 13-minute Video

To be honest, I didn't know who Robin Wilson was until this. Did you? He's released a banger of a video though... props!

What is 'THE SPIKE' & Who's in it?

The spike is described as the location where all the homies are skating. if they're skating Tesco car park, Tesco car park is 'THE SPIKE' or 'A SPIKE' I guess...

I was gassed to see that the video's got a bunch of Baker Boys in it: T Funk, Tyson Peterson, Pedro Delfino, Taylor Kirby and a bunch of other legends.

What's in it?

The video is an all-round winner. It begins with a fat guy attempting to kill Tristian Funkhouser to Tearz by El Michels Affair, a cover of the tune by Wendy Rene that Wu Tang sampled. An absolute banger.

Anyway... the videos full of rad clips and really good times with the homies. It's definetely a feel good skate video. I just wanted to turn it off half way through, go to the local skatepark, and hug all the OG's for a few seconds too long.

Pedro Delfino reads a poem in the middle of the video. I should hate this. I loved it. What's wrong with me?
