Long story short; Skateboarding is falling into the end of what we used to know as professional or traditional skateboarding. That does not exist anymore.
Welcome to another episode of

💪 We're in the 2025 groove 💪
SKATEBOARDING NEWS THIS WEEK
SKATEINFORMANT - The END of Professional Skateboarding
Who the hell is SKATEINFORMANT?
SKATEINFORMANT is an underground YouTuber who brings news and gossip on the latest skateboarding dramas. I like these types of pages for the most part, as they are useful for allowing the skateboarding community to peak behind the marketing curtains of skateboarding brands, even if they overdramatise for shock factor purposes.
The END of professional skateboarding
Don't be too alarmed, there will still be boards, wheels, trucks and even T-shirts with pro's names on them. SKATEINFORMANT touches on the history of pro skateboarding and the financial changes we can see today, such as the concerning loss of skater-owned businesses in the industry.
You could dig deep into a rabbit hole looking at big skate companies in financial struggles, such as the Lakai and SoleTech dilemmas that we've touched on in the past couple of weeks. Don't stress though, the skateboarding community is the strongest and it will always flower new money opportunities from somewhere.
IAGO CARRASCO - BONES X-FORMULA
Who the hell is Iago Carrasco?
Iago Carrasco is a Brazilian chap with a banging moustache, a cool name and a deep bag of tricks. From South to North America, Iago drops some smooth manoeuvres behind a funky Elelyn King track... tasteful choice Iago.
What are Bones X Formula Wheels?
Bones X Formula Skateboard Wheels are Bones current leading competitor to the GOAT (Spitfire Formula Four), promising unbeatable grip, slide and speed.
Tom Ström - DIRT RIVER II
Who the hell is Tom Ström?
Tom Ström is an underground filmer from , this time bringing you a sequel to his 7-year-old video 'Dirt River', with the latest featuring the likes of Oscar Rosenberg, Heitor Da Silva & Ville Wester.
It has a great combo of tranny & street... combina-shon. It's filmed great, has a great soundtrack and has a killer roster.
Charles Giroux - "MÉTROPOLUS"
Who the hell is Charles Grioux?
Not a clue! Never heard of any of the guys from this video, but recognise a few faces from the Dime video. My bad! Because the video's sick. All I know is it's got the best spots and the best dudes from Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦 It has a great soundtrack, wicked filming and the trick selection is impressive.
Aaron Herrington & Jon Colyer on 'Homeward Bound' - AB's Top 5 Parts of 2024
Who the hell is Adjacency Bias?
Adjacency Bias provides an ever-expanding space for Northwest American skateboarding, looking deeper into skateboarders processes, such as Polar's Aaron Herrington & Jon Colyer, god knows who he skates for but I follow him on Instagram, he's the real deal.
Get a good look into their skate monkey brains as they talk you through their trick selections and battles.
Village Psychic - Quit While You're Ahead
Strangelove Skateboards
First thing... incredible name and thumbnail.
This one's a video by Caleb Roebke, a wicked filmer only known by few. In this one, representing Strangelove Skateboards, posted on a channel called Psychic Village... this is all getting a bit confusing.
Anyway, it features Strangelove riders Ty Stigney and Jasper Steinbach, who have a rule to only skate petrifying spots. I loved the trick selection, not so fond of the tunes. But filming + tricks are mint. Definitely worth a watch.
Hibiki Hattori|First Full Part
Who the hell is Hibiki Hattori?
Hibiki Hattori is another very talented skater straight out of Japan 🇯🇵. Even though the part is stained by his Cariuma's 🤢, Hibiki's first part is nuts. Ledge tekkers, big stairs, bumping tune... Hibiki got it all baby. Shoutout to Kai Kotaro for doing a great job on the filming and editing.
