What is Adidas Skateboarding's 'BUILD' Project?

Adidas Skateboarding's 'BUILD' initiative is a creative project aimed at enhancing local skate scenes in cities like Madrid, Malmö, Stuttgart, and Paris. By collaborating with local skate shops, Adidas helped design and install custom 3D-printed concrete ledges in key urban spots, providing new spaces for skaters to enjoy.

The "Build" Video

Adidas promoted the initiative by bringing out top Adidas Skateboarding team riders, such as Heitor da Silva, Dennis Busenitz, and Mark Suciu, to engage with the community, promoting skate culture and supporting the growth of these vibrant local scenes.

Shot and edited by videographer Henry Kavanagh, the Sheffield video features the crusty streets of the North, alongside some lovely 4:3 filming and a solid crew of mates. After watching Hasan's part, you'll probably want to see the rest.

GX1000: Japan 2024

Who are GX1000?

GX1000 is a skateboarding crew and brand that has garnered a cult following within the skateboarding community. Known for their raw, gritty videos, GX1000 originally started as a video series created by San Francisco-based filmer and skateboarder Ryan Garshell. The crew quickly gained attention for their daring skateboarding, which often features high-speed hill bombs, gnarly risks, and the gritty colours and sounds of the Sony VX1000

GX1000 in Japan

In their Japan trip, GX1000 took their bonkers skating approach overseas, bringing their signature intensity to the streets of Tokyo and other Japanese cities. The crew’s time in Japan was marked by them hunting local skate spots, many of which are notoriously challenging due to Japan's strict rules and on-smoke security guards. Skating in public areas is hard!

Despite these challenges, the crew managed to return to the USA with clips up to standard with their usual madness.

Filmed in London & Los Angeles, 'Soul Crusher' is a video by Daniel Wheatley, featuring the likes of Mingus Gamble & Matlok Bennett Jones. A good variety of skating in this one. Well worth a watch!
